Shrinking Gadgets for Better Portability

Most of our consumer electronics products also benefited from miniaturization that had made most entertainment consumer items portable. That includes our cell phones, MP3 players and laptops. Without miniaturization, it would have been impossible to unhook the tethers that had bound us to our homes for several decades. Before, if you want to make call, you have to get back to your house first and make that call.



Cellular technology has unbound us from the constraints of that old telephone line and had made calling from anywhere a literal and figurative form of speech. That goes with most of our entertainment too that began with Sony's Walkman and continued today in MP3 players and portable DVD players. Now, we can listen to digital quality music and digital quality films just about anywhere we want to. It seems only our imagination has limited us to achieving more in terms of entertainment items.
