Making Things More Efficient

Today's technology has made our lives easier and more enjoyable. Things that needed to be done can be done in just a few minutes without exerting much effort. An example is the microwave oven which was originally spurned by consumers because of health concerns. The people before were afraid that radiation from these ovens can cause sterility but advances in technology has made these basic kitchen appliances much safer to use. .

Another is the advent of nanotechnology that aims to produce devices on the atomic level. This is a radically new approach that promises to make things work faster, build things cheaper and generally make products lighter, stronger, cleaner, more efficient and more precise. It was originally conceptualized by the great physicist Richard Feynman and made more popular in everyday language in a research paper presented by Eric Drexler to the National Academy of Sciences back in 1981. Nanotechnology is being studied to help solve the problems of energy supplies and global warming.
